Wow

"He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit." Psalm 147:4-5
Lately, we have been looking at the stars at night with Addison. It is beyond my comprehension that God would know each star by name.
Amazing.

How Could I Ask For More

I thought it was time to change the name of my blog. I've been thinking about the typical themes of my blog, and figured that it revolves around my sweet babies. When I think of how much God has blessed me and Andy with these two children, I am always filled with the question, How Could I Ask For More? Thus, the obvious name of the blog. I hope if there are any readers out there, that you enjoy reading what brings joy to this simple mom.

Time for Laughter

Henry has officially become Addison's biggest fan. From the moment they wake up to the time they go to bed, he is watching her and just laughing at her. She finds this quite fabulous to finally have the audience she has always wanted, so it makes for great fun for her.
This morning when she got downstairs, she said "good morning, buddy." She sat with him on the couch with her little arm around him. It was so sweet.
I don't think there is a better sound in the world than hearing the two of them laugh together.

Things I Thought Part II

I thought for sure I would wear an apron when I cooked. I have no idea why, but I don't wear one. Maybe when I'm 30 I will...maybe. I also thought I would be a planner (meal plan, exercise plan, budget plan) yeah, I don't do that either.

Things I Thought

I was thinking the other day how cute I was before I had children. As I was getting ready to quit my job and have Addison, I thought for sure that I would suddenly turn into this crazy homemaker. For one thing, I thought I would bake. I pictured my kitchen filled with the smells of fresh baked breads and cookies. Instead, it is mostly filled with the smell of day old dishes. I thought for sure I would make a nutritious meal every night for my family (only the best, right)? Ask Andy how that one is working out! I also thought I would always have laundry done, always have the floors vacuumed, the beds made and sheets changed on a very strict weekly basis, scrubbed kitchen and bathroom floors. Yeah, I had great expectations.
Little did I know that my days would be filled with playing plah-doh, sitting and doing peek-a-boo, singing, painting, reading endless numbers of books, and doing whatever else these little people can think up.
Oh well, so my house isn't perfect.

Backyardigans

This morning I realized that I was watching Backyardigans all by myself, and being thoroughly entertained. What does that exactly mean about the state of my brain?

Thankful

Today we were able to feed our children and ourselves, have clean (nice) clothes to wear, a house to live in, a car to get us places, and eachother. Not much more I could ask for.
