Pink Sky

On the way home tonight Addison noticed the beautiful sunset. It was orange and pink, which happens to be her favorite color. I told her that Jesus made that. We clapped for Jesus and she said "Yeah, Jesus, you did it!" She then continued to talk about how Jesus drew the orange and pink sun and that he did a good job. It was just about the most precious thing she has ever said.

Day at the Okolita's

Today Henry, Addison and I went to visit Aunt Kendra, Papa, Luci, Cooper, Ben, and Charlie. We had so much fun! Henry felt like a movie star with Aunt Kendra taking his picture, and Addison had so much fun with her cousins. On the way home she said, "I love Charlie. I love Ben. I love Luci and Cooper."

Thank you, Dora

The other day Andy asked Addison to count for Henry. Without hesitation she said, "uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis!" No doubt Dora taught her that one, so thanks Nickelodeon.

Our First Date

Henry and I went on a little mommy and son date tonight. We just went to Target, but it was the first time just him and I went out. He smiled and cooed the whole time. What a sweet baby boy.

Big Girl Bed part 2

The big girl bed has gone much smoother than I was anticipating. I was convinced that it would be an all out war to get her to stay in it. Thankfully, she has yet to get out of it, awake that is. Unbeknownst to me, Addison is one crazy sleeper. I have gone in her room a lot to check on her, and have found her in some crazy positions. She likes to sleep sideways, so the majority of the time she is half on the bed. Last night tops it all. I went in around 1:30 am to check on her, my eyes hadn't quit adjusted, but I knew she wasn't in her bed. I could not find her, so I turned the hall light on. To my shock, she had somehow managed to roll off the mattress and slide under the frame of the bed! It was quit a sight to see her wedged under the frame. I have no idea how she managed to do this and stay asleep at the same time!

Big Girl Bed

We just put Addison down for bed in her "big girl bed" for the first time. She got to wear her big girl jammies, a Dora nightgown. She cried for about ten minutes, but all is quiet at this point. We will see how the rest of the night unfolds! She looked like such a little thing getting into that bed. It made me a little sad that my baby isn't sleeping in a crib anymore! At least I still have Henry, he isn't even sleeping in a crib yet!

Update: Not two minutes after I wrote this she started screaming. Yes, she fell out of bed. We took the mattress off the small frame and put it on the floor. Hopefully this works...

My little traveling buddies

Today Addison, Henry and I drove home from Michigan. It took us us eight hours with three stops along the way. Henry was a sleepy head and only woke up when he was hungry. You would barely even notice he was there. Addison, however was a totally different story. She slept for a total of an hour. For the rest of the trip she chatted and sang. I have never talked about "big trucks" and "animals" more in all of my life combined. She especially loved driving through the traffic in the city and noticing the bridges, trucks (and their colors) and the trains. She even pointed out an airplane. It was the funnest road trip I have ever had (sorry Andy, I have fun with you too!). She cracked me up the entire way.

Michigan

Saturday morning we drove to Michigan to visit my family. Addison was very excited to see "ma" and "papa." The drive felt crazy long, I don't think Addison had ever been so bored in her entire life. Unfortunately, our DVD player broke, so we had to survive the trip without Dora (how did we ever survive as kids?!) We were all very excited to see everyone, but Addison was especially excited. In her world Payton is the absolute coolest person in the world. Henry was laughing at Grandma and Ella, which was so funny. Thankfully, the girls have played really well together, and Addison is having so much fun with her cousins. It has been a fun start to a week long trip in Michigan. Andy is leaving super early tomorrow to go home. Addison, Henry, and I are staying until Saturday. We are really going to miss him!
This afternoon we watched a storm come in. We had just gotten in the garage when we watched the rain sweep across the yard. It was such a terrible storm that the wind caused my parent's garage door to break. It really stinks because they just had to get a new one. We had just gone inside about one minute before the door broke, thankfully we weren't standing there when it happened. It was one powerful storm!

Surgery

Her famous, "what the heck" face
Aunt Mary's camera has an orange light before it flashes, I don't think she liked it!
To bad she had to have a diaper on in this picture, too funny!
Addison had to get tubes in her ears yesterday. The surgery went great, it was quick and easy. We were told to bring a comfort item of hers. I think they were referring to a blanket or something, but Addison brought her Dora and Boots doll. Although she ended up taking the crayons the nurses gave her back to the operating room with her. She only cried when she first woke up. It was very stressful leading up to it, but the Lord really gave us all peace. Aunt Mary came to help us with Henry, which was so amazing (since we had to be there at 6:00am!). Addison had a lot of fun having her there, it was a great distraction.
