"Mommy," Addison said in the car today. "I have a tummy ache in my head."

Crabby Old Ladies

To all you crabby old ladies out there, this blogpost is for you. You know who you are. You walk through Target like you expect me to go around you and your little cart filled with one item as I have two crazy kids and things are spilling out of my cart. I know you may be frail, but come on! And then those looks you give. I know it has been a long time since you had kids, but certainly your kids ran up and down the isles trying to escape you as they grabbed the cookies that you already said "no" to a million times. How quickly you forget. I know you're thinking, "thank God my grandkids don't behave like that." But guess what, grandma? They do!

Bunnsers

As I was driving to Target this morning, I heard little Miss in the backseat talking away. This isn't unusual, as she talks from the moment she is seated in the car until, well until forever, I guess. Anyway, I was just listening to her. This is how it went:
Addison: "Jesus, my bunnsers (that is our word for "butt") are really hurting me right now. Can you please help them feel better? Thanks, Jesus."

An Open Letter to Winter

Dear Winter,
I am writing this letter to kindly ask you to leave. I know, we loved you at first. You dazzled us with your beauty in the beginning. We enjoyed putting on our big coats, boots, hats, and gloves. We found it cozy to be in our warm home as the snow fell outside. You made us want to eat big, warm meals. It was fabulous.
And then your friends arrived. Winter blues, runny noses, fevers, ear infections, the stomach flu. Why, why, why do you do this to us? We would love you if you just stayed the way you were in November. But now you are a guest that has overstayed your welcome.
Don't worry, in November we will be excited to see you again.

Help

It has been ten months since I have had a good night sleep. Probably more than that, the whole uncomfortable at the end pregnancy thing. My sweet boy loves me so much I just can't get him to sleep anywhere but next to me. He likes to be close to the food, if you know what I mean. As much as I love cuddling with my boy, I would really like to sleep too. I am at a loss. I know, I know, you say, "just let him cry it out." Ouch. That really hurts. I just have to do it. But does anyone have a magic wand that I can wave over him, and poof, he is the best little sleeper absolutely in love with his crib? I would give my life savings at this point for that wand. Do you think insurance would cover it?

The Girl's Got Style

It was raining the other day. Raining hard. Addison was very concerned about getting too wet once we got out of the car. I explained to her that we had an umbrella in the car. I might as well had told her that we had a whole gallon of ice cream that she could have all to herself, she was that excited. In the midst of her excitement, she stopped, very concerned. "Mommy, what color is the umbrella?" "It is blue," I told her. "Oh, no. Can we go to the store and get a pink one, so it will match my coat?"
Oh, girls. They sure start young!

Leaves and Flowers Kind

Aunt Mary and Uncle Brett watched Addison for me the other day. She absolutley loves going over Aunt Mary's house. On our way home we had some interesting conversations about her night.

Me: "What kind of ice cream did you have?"

Addison: "The leaf and flower kind."

Me: "Hmmm, I don't know what that is. What color was is?"
Addison: "Oh, you know mommy. The leaf and flower kind."

Me: "Actually, I don't."

So I called Mary, she said it was vanilla, Breyers Vanilla.
