Strawberries

This last Saturday we went out to Ihop for breakfast. Lately, pancakes and eggs have been my pregnancy craving. We ordered Addison her own "smiley face pancake." It came with bananas as the mouth, strawberries as the eyes, whip cream as the nose, and strawberry yogurt as the hair. Now, this was a "special" breakfast, as I would never feed her whip cream or the sugared strawberries for breakfast. The funny thing was, she refused to try either one. It kind of became our goal to get her to try it, but every time she would turn her head away with a disgusted look on her face and say, "no!" It was kind of funny and frustrating at the same time. We knew that she would love this special treat. It made me think about how we are as adults. There are many times that God has "special treats" for us, but we turn our head away saying "no." The whole time He is saying, "but I promise, you will love this!" By our refusing His gifts, we are turning down something that could quite possibly be the best thing we ever had.
